Customer Service for Direct Care Providers

Participants will learn how to recognize critical deliverables to promote a positive customer service experience, distinguish between positive and negative communication approaches to build a satisfying resident and caregiver relationship from the time of admission to discharge, and identify proactive measures to eliminate or decrease concerns with the admission process that can negatively influence the customer service experience.
Falls Management

Participants will learn how to develop a falls management program that provides each resident adequate supervision and assistive devices in order to prevent accidents.
Focus on Fall Investigation & Interventions
1 hour
Participants will learn to identify the prevalence of falls in long term care facilities and importance of implementing appropriate interventions in preventing falls and repeated falls. A description of the fall risk assessment and investigation process through the use of root cause analysis will also be covered.
Free from Unnecessary Drugs
1 hour
Participants will learn the definition of an unnecessary drug in regards to dose, duration, monitoring, and indications for use and dose reduction, discontinuation, and physician orders, medications falling into this category, assessment process for determining medication necessity, monitoring and care planning needs, and requirements for gradual dose reductions.
Fundamentals of Pain Management

Participants will learn about the development of a pain management program which identifies and treats a resident’s pain and evaluates the
effectiveness of interventions.
