Behavior/Dementia Unit Training

The National Standards for Mental Health Services emphasized the protection of individual rights as well as the principles of participation by consumers in all aspects of their mental health care. RMS has implemented this policy as the cornerstone of our In-Patient and Senior Living programs in order to help behavioral units reach their goals for Recovery Programs.

RMS believes that identifying the difference between a good Behavioral Health Program and an excellent Behavioral Health program begins with an assessment of the current processes. This allows subsequent training to be focused only on the needed areas. Whether educating the staff on behavior trigger recognition or successful defusing strategies, the components of our Behavioral Health programs are prioritized to resolve critical issues as well as those activities that enrich the quality of life and safety for clients and staff. Successful outcomes of the programs include decreased re-hospitalization, increased staff retention, and reduced resident and staff injuries.
